Home again, home again, Jiggity Jig

Whew - it's been forever since I've been able to blog! I have so much to catch up on, I may have to neglect my household responsibilities for a while :o) It's nice to be home again... and the house is still standing (quite a bit messier, but at least still standing). To the best of my knowledge, there have been no fires, no visits by policemen, no crazy parties under Eric's rule. Lots of dog pee, though *ugh*

Anyway, the wedding was nice - Todd's brother Brad is now married to his long-time live-in girlfriend Michlyn

They were married in a big, catholic-churchy affair, in 200-degree-C weather (no air-conditioning), lots of standing, kneeling, sitting, kneeling, standing, etc. Then, the 652 photos afterward, in the burning sun. Then, the huge dinner (the food was really good!), a million toasts, lots of wine. Then, the obligatory dance, with the tacky emcee, silly games, bad music, drunk relatives, crazy dancing, tired kids running around, and so on. Then, the drunken revelry in various hotel rooms, until everybody finally collapsed. Fun, no? Hee hee hee

Caitlyn enjoyed the dance - she loves music, and the lights were fascinating to her. She was pretty darn cute in her party dresses (she had to change the first one after spitting up all over herself, and Todd's suit jacket, incidentally). She was the belle of the ball... after the bride, of course :o)

We did a little bit of site-seeing in Ottawa - not as much as we wanted to, but we did make it to the Museum of Science and Technology, the War Museum, and the Museum of Civilization. Jamie and Travis had a good time at the hotel, in the "water park" - a swimming pool that had a wave-maker and a water slide. We drove a million miles to see Paul and Silvia in Borden, ended up staying two nights. Paul and Todd had fun, but I don't know if Silvia will be wanting us to drop in again any time soon! On the trip home, we stopped in New Brunswick to visit Dad and Dianne, and managed to have a short lunch visit with my Mommy. Final stop was in Cape Breton, for another wedding reception for Brad and Mich - more dancing to bad music while drinking excessive amounts of alcohol. It was fun, though. Sadly, I couldn't get many photos of the trip, because my camera broke just moments before the wedding began! So, I have to wait for others to send me copies of their photos... ~sigh~

Well, gotta get a coffee, and see if Caitlyn is where I left her *ha ha ha* Oh, and I must catch up on all my family's blogs :o)

Just foolin' around

You Are Miss Piggy

A total princess and diva, you're totally in charge - even if people don't know it.
You want to be loved, adored, and worshiped. And you won't settle for anything less.
You're going to be a total star, and you won't let any of the "little people" get in your way.
Just remember, piggy, never eat more than you can lift!

Newsy-news (no film at 11)

Well, the house on Brookfield Road has been sold, the deal closed Friday, money has been handed over, and I won't be going there anymore. It is a relief to have that finished (all the renovations, etc.), but at the same time, there is a strange sense that something is missing. This week was stressful, 'cause the deal was supposed to close tuesday, but things got confusing...

We are also trying to get ready for the big trip to Ontario next week for Todd's brother's wedding. We scrambled around the whole city Friday, looking for a roof rack and carrier that would fit my car and yet not cost more than the car itself. Finally ended up getting the rack at the Toyota dealership, at surprisingly less cost than expected. So, tomorrow, it's wash all the laundry and get it packed and stuffed into the car. Todd, Travis and Jamie are leaving for the Argentia ferry tomorrow night around 9pm. Caitlyn and I are flying to Montreal on Thursday afternoon. Then, after the wedding, we are going to see if we can visit Paul and Silvia for a night. Then, we head back east, stopping in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia along the way to Cape Breton. Gonna be a long drive... Boy, I hope we survive that! Eric's band is playing in a couple shows, so he will be allowed to stay home, on the condition that he takes proper care of the house and dogs. He will have some supervision - Todd's cousin lives just down the street, and will be dropping in randomly :o)

Anyway, Caitlyn has been smiling like crazy lately, and she's learning how to laugh. She sucks in a bit too much air when she laughs and ends up coughing and sneezing - it's funny! She is still the prettiest little girl in Newfoundland, by the way. And I am not biased!

Ok, Just One More (I promise)

You Are a Jelly Donut

So you're a little rounder than most folks - but it's only in the right places!
You maintain a clean exterior, even if you're all messy on the inside.
You think you're the best, and that's mostly true...
But remember, you're just an empty shell without your jelly!

Another BlogThing

Just for the heck of it, I followed the link from Mike's Blog to uncover my hidden talent. What do you think, is this me?
Your Hidden Talent

You are both very knowledgeable and creative.
You tend to be full of new ideas and potential - big potential.
Ideas like yours could change the world, if you build them.
As long as you don't stop working on your dreams, you'll get there.

It Runs in the Family

I have made a recent discovery while looking through some photos of Todd's family... I have scanned the relevant photos, and invite you to take a look and see if you can spot the particular trait Todd and his children have in common.

Item 1: Todd himself
Father Tongue

Item 2: First child
Son Tongue

Item 3: Second child
Daughter Tongue

I thought at first it was a weird coincidence, but now that Caitlyn is exhibiting the same trait, I know it's a genetic thing. These Inkpens are saucy!! Maybe I'll do more research, and see if any of the other Inkpens suffer from this genetic anomoly. I may even be able to track it's origins...
